99+ Homeschool Resources for Your Teaching Toolbox

Teaching Tools & Homeschool Curriculum

When I first started homeschooling 15 years ago, I had no idea where to find all the teaching resources and homeschool curriculum for language arts, math, science, and social studies that my kids needed to learn.  The vast amount of knowledge out there threatened to paralyze me if I didn’t organize it into neat categories; that’s why I ended up organizing my Road Maps to Mastery Skills Checklists according to three basic intellectual skills:  Grammar, Logic, & Rhetoric.   I spent countless hours scouring the library, bookstore, and internet searching for the homeschool teaching resources that would make my kids’ elementary school experience top-notch.

Be choosy about what knowledge you teach and what the kids learn.  That’s why I find the authentic classical education approach of teaching to “skills mastery” so appealingteach them the skills of learning, and they can learn anything over the course of a lifetime.  So in the spirit of teaching skills instead of subjects, here are 99+ homeschool teaching resources to help you teach your kids to read, think, write, and speak.

Now that high school graduation is behind me, I can look back on what we did with fresh eyes.  There is absolutely no way that any homeschool mom or child can learn all the vast knowledge that exists in the subject areas of language arts, math, science, or social studies.  No one has the capacity to do that in a lifetime, much less the brief elementary, middle, and high school years of homeschooling!  Give yourself permission to choose what works for you and your child…drop other people’s expectations as you give your kids a real classical education and teach three skills to mastery.

Hope you find these homeschool teaching resources useful!

xoxo,

Diane
